Cell Over Satellite
Every mobile phone on site can make and receive calls transported via satellite.
Just like normal.
How Does It Work?
What is Cell Over Satellite Service?
Cell Over Satellite installs a small satellite dish at your facility or campus. The dish is connected to the internet in another part of the country, typically more than 1,000 miles away. The internet over satellite service can be extended throughout your entire facility wirelessly using your existing Wi-Fi access points.
You could be in California but your mobile device will be connected to your wireless provider's network in Missouri, thereby bypassing failed towers, network overcrowding, infrastructure failure and any number of regional issues.
The satellite connection at your facility is monitored 24/7. If your connection to the satellite goes down, you are notified. You are also sent up-time analytic reports that show any downtime.

Frequently asked questions
Have more questions about how our system works? Here are some of the most common ones below.
How does this compare with just adding a couple of satellite phones?
Adding a couple of satellite phones will be more expensive, won't give your entire team the ability to use their cell phones in the event of an outage, and it won't allow them all to use the internet.
Who are your competitors?
We don't have any. We're the only company offering this service in the United States. Our technology is proprietary and patented.
What is the quality of a voice call over satellite?
The quality won't be as good as a normal call on a landline or cell phone, but you can communicate effectively. We offer the ability to schedule a demo with us to check the quality yourself before you make your purchase.
How can I tell if my phone is connected to satellite?
You can test what network your phone is connected to with a site like SpeedTest.net. It will provide you with all the metrics you need, such as network name and provider, download speed, upload speed, etc.
How many calls can be made at one time?
Anywhere from 25 to 50 calls can be made simultaneously off of a single satellite connection. Many times more can text message or email.
How is the signal spread across the facility?
The satellite connection will use your existing wi-fi access points on a dedicated SSID network. The label for users to see on their phones (SSID) should be something obvious, such as “cell over satellite” or “satellite wifi”. Turn on wi-fi calling on your cell phone and switch to this network to enable satellite calling.
Why is Cell Over Satellite Service Monitored?
Our business is not satellite connectivity. It is business continuity and disaster recovery. We back up the nation’s largest 911 centers and hospitals. We not only verify your satellite connection is working, but we monitor the space-to-earth routes for every satellite dish we install. Satellite providers continually alter their earth routes. If an emergency or disaster occurs near your facility, your connectivity would be compromised if the satellite connection terminates anywhere within 500 miles.
Each Product Includes Cloud-Based PBX
This service restores incoming landline calls directed to your organization's main phone numbers.
Everyone within the reach of your Wi-Fi network with a cell phone now has a satellite smartphone and is part of the incoming call distribution from your main telephone number(s) routed through a Cloud PBX. Delivering to your organization all the flexibility of your existing but non-functioning phone system.
Incoming calls to an organization are managed in the cloud and delivered to cell phones/satellite phones, satellite POTS lines, working business phones or other locations. When incoming calls are answered in the cloud, the calls hear an auto-receptionist recite a menu of options. Calls are then forwarded to an individual, group, alternate location, or different options, emulating the on-site telephone switch.
How The Hosted PBX Works
Incoming calls are forwarded to a toll-free number provided by Cell Over Satellite. Incoming calls are re-routed by using a standard telephone company feature “Remote-Call-Forwarding” (RCF). RCF should be tested semi-annually, you don't want any surprises.
Cell Over Satellite's hosted PBX was designed for emergency use, however, it can be used regularly. The main attraction of our cloud or hosted phone system is that it is flexible, scalable, and designed to be simple and easy. Talk to one of our consultants and see a demo.

Redirect Incoming Calls
Here are the basics on redirecting an organization's incoming calls. The purpose of the web call controller is to answer calls originally sent to a location that is currently experiencing some difficulties.
