Turn Your Cell Phone into a SATELLITE Phone

YOU ARE ON-SITE
Instructions: When on site, under your phone settings, switch the Wi-Fi network to “Cell Over Satellite”, also on settings, turn on Wi-Fi calling. IN SOME CASES, YOU MAY NEED TO ALSO PUT YOUR PHONE IN AIRPLANE MODE. It depends on the phone and where the cellular network problem is.
Your cell phone is now a satellite phone which bypasses tower outages, network spikes (overcrowding) and cellular network failure. It may take 1-3 minutes for your cell phone to register with your cell provider in a different part of the country.
You do not need any special app to make this work. As far as the cellular providers are concerned, they see you in a different part of the country. All the existing apps on your phone should work like normal.
Always remember to conserve the limited satellite bandwidth that is available. When possible, communicate by text messages or email. For example, a one-minute phone call on your cell phone is equivalent to approximately 500 texts or emails.
